At Taylor St. Church of Christ we believe that our youth are not just the future of the church—they are the church!

We serve students in grades 6-12, meeting our youth where they are in their faith journey. Whether they're just beginning to explore Christianity or are looking to deepen their relationship with God, we offer programs and activities that inspire and challenge.
Sunday Mornings: How God Became King
We gather each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. with the whole congregation for worship and communion, then head to youth class for a Bible-based lesson that challenges and encourages students. It is a weekly chance to connect with God, dive into Scripture, and build real friendships.
Tuesday Afternoon: Secrets of the Vine
During the school year, we meet at 7:00 p.m. at Undergrounds for coffee, connection, and conversation. In the summer, we shift to 3:00 p.m. at Coal Brew for a relaxed time of fellowship and discussion. Right now, we are exploring how technology shapes daily life and how to use it in ways that honor God. Pull up a chair. Everyone is welcome.
Wednesday Nights: Reviving Old Scratch
Every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., we meet at the church building for food, fellowship, and faith. We share a meal with the whole congregation, join together for a devotional and worship in song, then the youth group splits off for a game and a short lesson that helps us grow closer to God and to one another.

Each January on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, our youth group travels to Winterfest in Fort Worth, Texas. It’s a weekend of powerful worship, solid teaching, and time spent growing in faith alongside students from all over the world. While we are there, we partner with Mission Arlington for a morning of hands-on ministry. It’s a meaningful and memorable way to start the year.
Encounter is our annual summer retreat for teens (incoming 9th grade through recent grads), held each June at Lubbock Christian University. During this week-long experience, students deepen their faith through powerful worship, inspiring lessons, and meaningful fellowship. It’s a time to grow closer to God, build lasting friendships, and come home refreshed and encouraged.
Every other year, we celebrate our high school juniors and seniors with a surprise trip. The destination stays secret until we hit the road, but it’s always something fun and memorable. Past trips have included places like Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, Six Flags, and Hurricane Harbor in Arlington. It’s our way of honoring these students, building community, and giving them a break before the busy season ahead.
Each summer, students from 8th grade through college have the chance to serve at OP Camp in West Texas. It's a camp created for kids who could use extra encouragement and support. Volunteers help as counselors or on rec crew, leading games, worship, small groups, and daily activities.
Every year, our youth group joins Encounter LE, the weekend retreat held the Friday through Sunday before Thanksgiving at Lubbock Christian University. It’s a chance to pause the school-year rush and reconnect with God alongside peers. The weekend includes speakers, small group sessions, worship, games, and entertainment, all packed into a meaningful time of spiritual growth.
